Executive LL.M. Home
Welcome to E-LLM, the home page of the new graduate-level program in Tax Law at New York University’s School of Law. Through our program, students can receive online all but two credits of the Legum Magister/Magistra, a Master of Laws, in Taxation.
A candidate for the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M.) must hold the first degree in law (J.D. or LL.B.) from a law school that is approved by the Section of Legal Education of the American Bar Association or a bachelor of law degree from a non-U.S. law school approved by its foreign equivalent. A prospective applicant in his or her final year of study toward the first degree in law is eligible to apply only if he or she will complete all necessary requirements to receive the first degree in law by the start date of the LL.M. program. Admission to the Graduate Division for all LL.M. programs is highly selective and is based primarily upon prior legal studies.

Message from Faculty Director Noel Cunningham
As Faculty Director of the Graduate Tax Program, I am excited that our online pilot program has taken another step forward. For several years now, our online courses have been extremely popular with the students in our existing full-and part-time Graduate Tax Program. We are glad to welcome students from all around the world to study with us. I look forward to hearing from you.
As the Number 1 program of its kind, the perpetual challenge of the Graduate Tax Program is to be on top of our game, innovative, flexible and responsive to our students' needs as well as the needs of the marketplace. What do we have that no one else has? The pre-eminent tax faculty in the country; a first-rate J.D. program with particular expertise in corporate and tax-related subjects; a stellar coterie of business school offerings at Stern that augment the Law School's rich tax curriculum and operates as a resource for our students; a myriad of substantive and cutting-edge lectures, workshops, and panel discussions featuring leading academics and practitioners from across the country and the world; a 10,000+ national and international alumni base that is passionate about and proud of the Program's heritage; New York City and its extraordinary tax practitioners to be available for our adjunct faculty; and a 60-year history.
